Jordan | Classic 10 days experience

Welcome to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan! Upon arrival at Amman International Airport, you’ll be greeted by an Outstanding Representative and you will be driven to your hotel in style. Spend your first night in Amman.

You will kick-off the day with a city tour of Amman, “Cultural capital of the Middle East”, visiting the Citadel, the Roman theatre and much more, before heading to the north of the country for a historical tour. Jerash will be our first stop. The Greco-Roman city known as the ‘Pompeii of the East’ was built over 2,000 years ago, Jerash is widely regarded as the best-preserved city of the Decapolis, a confederation of 10 Roman cities dating from the 1st century! We’ll explore the site taking in the colonnaded street and amphitheater.

Then we will go for a drive through the beautiful Dibeen Forest on our way to Ajloun Castle. The Ajloun Castle protected the communication routes between south Jordan and Syria and was one of a chain of forts that lit beacons at night to pass signals from the Euphrates as far as Cairo. Today, Ajloun Castle is a splendid sight with a fascinating labyrinth of towers, chambers, galleries, and staircases to explore, while its hilltop position offers stunning views of the Jordan Valley.

Return to Amman by the end of the afternoon for overnight.

After breakfast depart to the Christian city of Madaba, also known as “the City of Mosaics” for it has the oldest known mosaic map of the Holy Land. We will visit St Georges Church and of course the mosaic maps. Then off to view the Jordan Valley from the famous Mount Nebo and visit its Byzantine Church.

Continue our trip down to the lowest point on Earth: the Dead Sea! It is located 400m (1,312 ft.) below sea level in the Jordan Rift Valley, known for its dramatic, beautiful landscape.

Enjoy a free day to relax at the private beach of your hotel, cover yourself in mud and defy gravity in the salty water or just rest at the pool with a view.

Today get ready for some canyoning adventure! After checking out of the hotel we will take you to the Wadi Mujib Nature Reserve, the lowest nature reserve in the world. It lies in a deep valley holding one of Jordan’s most breathtaking scenery. Here you will have a chance to trek through the water, beneath the towering canyons, and enjoy the wildlife and scenery of the reserve.

After this awesome experience, we'll hit the road to Petra for overnight.

*Wadi Mujib Water Reserve is only open from April to October.

The ancient city of Petra is one of Jordan’s national treasures and by far its best-known tourist attraction. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Much of Petra’s appeal comes from its spectacular setting deep inside a narrow desert gorge.

You can choose between two ways to visit the site*:
1. Traditional way through the Siq (Canyon) guided tour through the Siq to the Treasury. We will visit the Treasury, city center, the Royal tomb, and the theater, the High Place of Sacrifice and the Roman soldier tombs, and many others.
2. Through Petra Back door. This is a bit more adventurous and begins with a 20mins drive to the areas called Little Petra. This served as the trading area for the main site of Petra. We will begin with a 2hrs hike through little Petra and beautiful surrounding mountains area until you reach the monastery (pictured above). Then you will continue through the main site of Petra exiting from the main gate.
*Both options will include a guide.

Possibility to add a visit of Petra by Night - a magical way to see part of the rock city by candlelight - if Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

After breakfast, we'll head to Wadi Rum, Jordan’s largest desert and one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. Upon arrival jump in the back of your local Bedouin guide's off-road vehicle for an unforgettable tour of the Wadi Rum desert! He will take you to the renowned places as well as the less frequented and less famous ones. Sandstones and granite rocks make up this vast valley, the largest in the Hashemite Kingdom. Stop for a short camel ride to get the full desert experience. Seal this day with a typical Bedouin lunch over a fire in the shade of canyon.

After breakfast, a private transfer will take you to your resort in Aqaba on the shores of the Red Sea. This stay is all about relaxation and good food! If you're feeling curious you can also rent some snorkel and explore the reefs from the private beach of the hotel.

In the morning revel in a bit more at the swimming pool or beach, before we take you back to the capital, to enjoy a last day of shopping or sightseeing on your own.

Overnight in Amman.

It's time to say goodbye... or rather see you again! A private transfer will take you to the airport for your international flight home, with everlasting memories of your Arabian nights.
