Outstanding Travel | 5-day tour Taste of Jordan

After landing in Amman, embark on a mesmerizing journey through the Hashemite Kingdom! On the program, we have 12th-century Ajloun Castle with spectacular views of the Jordan Valley, the famous ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Jerash, Umm Qais, or ancient Gadara... And the pièce de résistance: the Rose Red City of Petra! You are also unlikely to forget that time you defied gravity floating in the Dead Sea and your off-road vehicle tour through the desert of Wadi Rum, also rightfully called the Valley of the Moon.

Day 1 Arrival in Amman

Upon arrival to Queen Alia Airport, meet and assist and transfer to the hotel in Amman for overnight.

Depending on the time of arrival, we will take you on a city tour to discover the beauty of the cultural capital of the Middle East. On the program: a visit of the oldest and most traditional part of Amman city - the Citadel, Blue Mosque, Roman Theater and some time for shopping in the souqs; as well as a panoramic tour of modern Amman.

Day 2 Amman – Jerash – Dead Sea

You will head towards the north of the country for a historic tour. Jerash will be our first stop. The Greco-Roman city, known as the ‘Pompeii of the East’, was built over 2,000 years ago and is widely regarded as the best-preserved city of the Decapolis - a confederation of 10 Roman cities dating from the 1st century. We’ll explore the site taking in the colonnaded street, amphitheater, and more. Next, we'll head to Umm Qais, where you'll get a glimpse of the extensive ruins of ancient Gadara, with its Greek statues and Christian mosaics, and enjoy the panoramic view over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights in Israel. We'll continue to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Muslim forth located on the site of an old monastery. Back then, the castle controlled traffic along the road connecting Damascus and Egypt, guarding three wadis (Arab for valley) which descend towards the Jordan Valley. Thus, as you can guess, you're in for some breathtaking view again!

In the afternoon we'll head down to the lowest point on Earth: the Dead Sea! It is located 400m (1,312 ft.) below sea level in the Jordan Rift Valley, known for its dramatic, beautiful landscape. Enjoy a swim in its salty waters and relax.

Day 3 Petra – Wadi Rum

After breakfast, morning departure south to Petra.

The ancient city of Petra is one of Jordan’s national treasures and by far its best-known attraction. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans, who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Much of the Rose Red City's appeal comes from its spectacular setting deep inside a narrow desert gorge.

We will go through the Siq (Canyon) to the Treasury, then we'll visit the city center, the Royal tomb, the Theater, the High Place of Sacrifice, and the Roman soldier tombs.

At the end of the afternoon, we will depart for Wadi Rum, Jordan’s largest desert and one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world.

Day 4 Wadi Rum – Amman

After breakfast, jump in the back of your local Bedouin guide's off-road vehicle for an unforgettable tour of the Wadi Rum desert! He will take you to the renowned places as well as the less frequented and less famous ones. Sandstones and granite rocks make up this vast valley, the largest in the Hashemite Kingdom. Stop for a short camel ride to get the full desert experience. Seal this day with a typical Bedouin lunch over a fire in the shade of canyon. At the of the day, a transfer will bring you back to Amman for overnight.

Day 5 Amman – Airport

Enjoy a good breakfast at your hotel, and then it will be time for us to take you to the airport. We will assist you with check-in and let you board for your onward journey with mesmerizing memories of this mystical land of magic and sand!
